§ 191-2. Permits required.

  • In addition to excavation permits, which are required prior to the installation of a public pay telephone on any Street as set forth in Sec. 214-29, no public pay telephone shall be operated or maintained on, over or under any Street or other alienable property of the city without [a Pay Telephone permit and a Street/Sidewalk Excavation permit] the issuance of an operation and maintenance permit. Operation and maintenance permits shall be issued by the Director, following the completion of the RFP selection process or the granting of an application for such a permit, to a Provider in Good Standing who has a current agreement with the city as set forth in the Utility Service Procurement Policy, and the completion of all inspections of the location by the city. The operation and maintenance permit shall be effective as of the date the permit is issued by the Director and shall not exceed a five (5) year time period from the permit's effective date.
