§ 220-23. Membership increase for 1999 and 2000 assessment years.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 9-199(c) of the Connecticut General Statutes, the Board of Assessment Appeals is hereby increased by three (3) members for the 1999 and 2000 assessment years.

2.

The Mayor shall appoint the three additional members, subject to confirmation by the Board of Representatives.

3.

The provisions of Connecticut General Statutes section 9-167a concerning minority representation shall apply and not more than five (5) members of the eight (8) member Board of Assessment Appeals, shall be members of the same political party.

4.

Upon the Board of Assessment Appeals completing its work on the 2000 assessment year, the terms of the three (3) additional members appointed and confirmed pursuant to this ordinance shall expire.
